Activity's in March

On the 22cnd of March The A.P.C.F. .got together again with some friends of ours. On a day which promised much rain we got together to do an exhibition on Maker floats, Feature finding ,accurate, spodding , casting and a little bit about watercraft for who ever was interested.

Food drink and company were not wanting as was the rain that came and went all day but did nothing to dampen the spirits on a good day had by all who attended.

On the last weekend of 2007 The members of the A.P.C.F. decided to go fishing .It was the first but not the last of social events organized by our small but ever growing family.

It was 06:00 bloody early when the first blurry eyed members started to meet at the arranged area ..On one of our great North Portuguese venues.Barragem Ermal.(Ermal Dam )We exchanged hellos and chatted of food and Carp gear.

At 07:00 in the intense cold low cloud and drizzly rain we made our way down to our swims in good company eager to make a start in this haven of nature.

It was so cold we had trouble feeling our fingers as we set up our rods but we all know that feeling and it ´s all part of the course and charm with Carp Fishing.

Around 9:00 we had our traps set for our carpy friends, and started to partake in some of the fine food and drink founder members and future members of the A.P.C.F.. had brought along. Indeed this continued until around 13.00,when we took it upon ourselves to clean up the rubbish left by previous visitors to the dam ,fishermen and picnic makers alike .Although most of the rubbish must be said came from fishermen ,empty ground bait bags, empty line spools wine bottles ect…After we had a filled a fair few rubbish bags, the bankside was cleaner then when we came which is a big objective of our Ass. .LEAVE NO LITTER! Some people have no shame or respect for such lovely spots

Then we took a photo or two ,not forgetting our mascot Gasper the dog.

Well the rain eased a little and the sun peeped through the clouds as we started to pack up ,to see the sun crack the clouds was a nice way to end 2007 and welcome 2008 which promises to bring many more events and a greater awareness of Carp fishing on a National Level.
